Choosing a Corporate Gift Budget: What Your Money Buys
Setting a corporate gift budget is easier when you know what each price actually buys. This guide explains how to work out a per-person amount, what affects the price of a bulk order at Bundl, and how to check the total before you send your enquiry. Prices below are the ones listed on our website at the time of writing, and they can change, so check the product page before you commit.
Start with the number of gifts, not the price
Most budgets go wrong because they start with a price per gift and forget the other costs. Before you choose anything, work out:
- How many people will receive a gift, and whether any of them are in another location
- Whether the gifts will carry your logo, and which branding option you want
- Whether you want one bulk delivery to your office or a separate delivery to each recipient
- Whether you need a personal card message in each gift
Once you have the number of gifts, multiply it by the price of the gift you have in mind, then add the extra costs listed below. That total is the figure to compare against your budget.
What our ready-made hampers cost
Our ready-made hampers sit in a range of price points, so you can match a gift to the amount you have set aside. Some examples from the current range:
- Merry & Mulled at $77
- Nibbles at $88
- A Thank You Hamper at $105
- Cin Cin Hamper at $137
- The Positano Hamper at $170
For a gift that is not food or wine, our picnic baskets include the Capri Cooler Basket at $55.
If you want to see what is available under a set amount, browse corporate gifts under $80 or gift hampers under $100. Read each product's listed contents before you choose, as the contents are what you are paying for.
Add the costs that are easy to miss
Four costs are often left out of an early estimate:
- Shipping: shipping is calculated at checkout based on your order, so add it once you know your delivery details.
- Branding: branded gift boxes have no minimum order. Branded ribbon has a minimum order of one roll at $199, plus a separate $121 (incl GST) setup fee that is invoiced at the artwork stage. Compare the options in branded gift boxes vs branded merchandise.
- Packaging upgrades: if you want a document box or a branded box for a gift, check the price on its product page, as these add to the cost of each gift.
- Personal card messages: if you want a note with each gift, include it in the order details so it is added correctly.
Budget for the people who receive the gift
A budget does not have to be the same for everyone. Many businesses set one amount for clients, a slightly different amount for referral partners, and another for staff. Our thank-you gifts, corporate gifts and staff gifts pages group options by the occasion, which can help you set a sensible spread across each group.
For alcohol-free options, check the listed contents of each hamper. Our brief for a corporate gifting supplier lists the details to share so we can recommend the right option for your list.
Decide what the budget is for
It helps to separate the budget into the purpose of the gift:
- Thank-you gifts for clients and referral partners, where a modest, well-presented gift is usually enough
- Settlement or handover gifts for a property sale or project completion, where the gift often marks a milestone; see settlement gifts and handover gifts
- Christmas gifts for a wider list, where you may want one gift per recipient at a consistent price; see planning corporate Christmas gifts
Checking the total before you order
Before you send an enquiry, check that you have:
- A total for the number of gifts, including branding and any packaging you want
- A note of which shipping cost applies to your delivery, once it is calculated at checkout
- A recipient list, if the gifts are going to more than one address; see sending corporate gifts to multiple recipients
